Hello! I'm Natasha and I am the photographer behind Precious Moments Photography by Natasha.  I specialize in First Birthday and Cake Smash photography.  I absolutely adore celebrating first birthdays with your little ones and watching them enjoy their cake and have a little fun too!  Customized Cake Smash sessions can be elaborate and cost of doing them can be relatively high.  In saying this I created a signature package to offer you all an alternative to the higher cost cake smash sessions.  These sessions allow you to pick from my collection of pre-done cake smash backdrops and still celebrate your little ones birthday with cake smash photos.  See my signature backdrops below.

I started doing cake smashes when my second child (Amelia) turned one 6 years ago in Brampton.  Amelia will be 7 in just a few days.  When I initially started photography at Humber College, my instructor said those images you think are amazing today will only grow over time.  In 6 years I have truly come a long way.  Although I do look back at past sessions and still absolutely love them, I can definitely see my growth as a photographer from composition to editing to my own style and so on.

Today I am going to share with you my all time favourite cake smash (or donut smash) rather.  I have wanted to do this for so long so I was thrilled when Samaya's mom was completely game for it.  Although it initially started off as a simple donut session with sprinkles, it quickly grew to an incredible setup.  I even made ice cream cones and an ice cream cart which both of my girls adore and play with today.

Samaya was an amazing smasher, the beauty of donuts was she had so many choices.  My favourite part of her session was when she knocked over the donuts and then threw her body on top of them!  It was truly an amazing and fun session.  See for yourself!

Hello!  I am so glad you dropped by my blog.  Have you seen the movie Moana? My 2.5 year old is obesessed.  A little background about me: I am a photographer in the Brampton and Caledon area of Ontario.  I specialize in these amazing customized setups for cake smashes or first birthday celebration photoshoots.  Sometimes being a busy mom and a busy business owner things get pushed aside, like my blog.  I'm hoping to get this back going as I love to go back and look at past sessions to show my clients/future clients.  Up first is Elianna's cake smash.  Elianna's parents are pretty big Disney fans so this Moana theme definitely fit.  Elianna also really likes Moana so it was the perfect set for this sweet little princess.  Her mom brought this gorgeous dress her grandma got from a friend and it was perfect for her first birthday portraits.  Her mom also had a pretty amazing cake made by a baker for the occasion and Elianna did not disappoint, she enjoyed every bit of her session.

Of course we cannot forget her adorable pre-cake smash photos where we incorporated an adorable princess theme and her stylish princess dress.

Most babies adore the bubble bath clean up, Elianna most certainly did.

The very first cake smash session I did was 5 years ago when my 2nd child turned one.  It was a Minnie Mouse theme and very simple with just a banner, balloons, and cute little baby girl.  After 5+ years of being a professional photographer in the Brampton area, I have definitely come a long way.  Although I still love simple cake smashes, I do enjoy creating a beautiful customized setup for my one year old clients.

As I knew Isabella's cake smash session (my 3rd) would be approaching I started contemplating ideas at around 9 months.  Yes 9 months!  I knew it would be epic.

Deciding on a theme was difficult.  When Joshua (my first child) turned one we did a video cake smash right at home (I wasn’t a professional photographer then), he enjoyed listening to Sesame Street music with me so Elmo and Sesame Street were a given.  Amelia (my second child) loved Mimi Mouse as she used to say and her and her brother would sit and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse together.  Isabella enjoyed singing and listening to nursery rhymes but other than that she wasn't really into much.  After finding this gorgeous romper from Little Alexis Designs I opted for a Mermaid theme incorporating my favourite colours: pink, purple and minty blues.

Everything came together lovely and Lucy from Artisan Backdrops helped me design my customized backdrop.   Denise from Denise's Delicious Bites created a beautifully designed mermaid cake to add the finishing touches to this gorgeous cake smash session perfect for my sweet little girl.

So how did it go...well we planned Isabella's cake smash on the weekend following her birthday when my husband and the kids would be home.  She loved food and completely smashed and devoured the cupcake we gave her on her actual birthday.  The morning of her cake smash she woke up from her nap not quite herself so we waited a bit and then attempted to let her smash but it just wasn't working out.  I put the cake in the fridge and gave her cuddles.  I tried again 2 days later, she was a happier usual Isabella but wanted Mommy close by which made shooting the photos during her session difficult.  The beauty of being the photographer and the parent is you get to do both, take the photos and try to keep your baby on the set.  We interacted and I decided I would smash with her which she thought was hysterical!  Check out Isabella's beautiful cake smash photos below.

and of course as I always say a cake smash isn't a cake smash without a bubble bath clean up.  Most of my one year old client's tend to love the bubble bath more than the cake smash - water, bubbles, and a perfectly sized baby bathtub.  It doesn't get better than that!

If your looking for someone to capture this wonderful milestone for you, I would be honoured to capture and create beautiful heirloom memories like this one for your baby and family.  Turning ONE is such a big deal.  I would love to make it special and fun!

Welcome to my blog, I am a local photographer specializing in Cake Smash Photography in the Mississagua, Brampton and Caledon area and the GTA.

A client of mine referred Jasreet's mom to me, it is wonderful to receive referrals from client's who absolutely love and adore your work and are extremely pleased with their beautiful images.

The goal for this session was pretty florals and simplicity.  I was excited as I finally got to use my garland with florals for a cake smash.  Mom asked if I could make a floral swing for this session and I really wasn't sure I could deliver that but after some thought I managed to put something together and surprised her!

Jasreet wasn't theoking greatest fan of her cake.  I do my absolute best to make the kids feel comfortable during their sessions.  I find patience, observation and interaction are key. Check out Jasreet's adorable photos.

Thank you Dalvir for booking this special milestone with me.
